Hi, my name is Ben, and I wanted to tell you a little about our journey and how ‘Ben’s Bathrooms’ all started. I started tiling nearly 20 years ago, having worked in all areas of this trade from commercial to residential, with experience in running building sites and large teams of people in 2014 I sat with my family at Christmas and realised I wanted to be around to see my children more.
So after a few months of planning, I started the company as a part-time venture in April 2015, however, I very quickly realised that the demand for good quality tiling work was high. This meant that we needed to grow the team to ensure we could help as many people as possible. The vision was set and we started to grow our teams both in the field.
In 2017 we saw some significant growth and we really started to become a family run company when my wife Laura joined the team full-time. Laura has a long background previously working in customer services and project management. It was a great move for us to help grow the business and ensure our vision was always achieved with every customer.
Tiling & Bathroom Fitting Services
Then in 2019, I was told that I could not tile anymore, rather than deter us, it drove us on and after my recovery, I came into the office full-time. In the first month, we found our flow and I started to learn all the elements of our business. It was at this point we realised we could help more people by not only offering a tiling service, but also a bathroom fitting service. In September 2019, we launched our Bathroom service, which meant our customers had a better choice and took away the stress of managing lots of trades as we arranged everything from the design to the install and aftercare.
Now we are in the summer of 2020 and what a change the world is seeing. Personally, we have seen a huge change in our business, with us being forced to close our beloved showroom and being a little lost for a while like the rest of the population! We have now started to get back on track. With some exciting changes the future is definitely bright.

Firstly, this year has seen the rebranding our business from Thrapston Tiling to Ben’s Bathrooms Ltd; this is a huge step forward for us and we can’t wait to show off the designs for this.
Secondly, expanding our bathroom fitting teams has been so rewarding, especially knowing how many people are struggling at the moment. The third change will stay a mystery for now, but what I will say is think bigger, better choices for our customers…!
